Brand and press

Harbor Desk brand guidelines and press kit.

Everything you need to write about Harbor Desk or put our logo on a slide: logo files, colors, fonts, and the rules we follow when we write. If something here is missing, email press@harbordesk.example.

Colors

Harbor Teal is our primary color and does most of the work: buttons, links and the logo mark. Deep Navy is the secondary color. Ink is for body text and dark sections. Beacon Amber is the accent: use it for one highlight per view, such as a key number, never for large areas.

Fonts

We use two typefaces, both free from Google Fonts.

Manrope for headings

Manrope ExtraBold (800) for headlines and the wordmark, Bold (700) for smaller headings. Fallback: Inter, then the system sans-serif.

Inter for body text, at 400 for paragraphs and 600 for labels and buttons.

Fallback: system-ui, -apple-system, Segoe UI, Roboto, Arial, sans-serif.

Tagline and calls to action

Our tagline is See churn coming. Act before renewal. Use it as written, with both periods.

We are sales-led, so every call to action is either Book a demo or Talk to sales. We never write "Start free trial", "Sign up" or "Get started free".

How we write

We write the way an experienced customer success leader talks to another one: as a peer, about real work, with numbers.

Our tone, in four words: plainspoken, confident, practical, a little dry.

Do

  • Lead with the point, then explain it. "Most churn is visible months early. Here's how to see it."
  • Use specific numbers and name the customer. "Tidewater Freight cut gross churn 18% in 12 months."
  • Say what the product does, then what it means for the CS team. "Every score shows its working, so a CSM can say why an account is red."
  • Use short sentences and the occasional short, dry line. "A score that can't explain itself doesn't get used."
  • Admit tradeoffs. "No free trial. A health score needs your data to mean anything."

Don't

  • Don't hype. Not "revolutionize your customer success", but "cut churn 18%".
  • Don't stack adjectives. Not "powerful, intuitive, AI-driven insights", but "a score that shows its working".
  • Don't over-explain what CS leaders already know, like what churn or NRR is.
  • Don't use exclamation marks.

Words we avoid

Unlock, seamless, revolutionary, game-changer, leverage (as a verb), synergy, delight, best-in-class, world-class, cutting-edge, single pane of glass, AI-powered (say what it does instead).

How we refer to customers

Companies that pay us are customers, never "clients". Their customers are accounts. The people on a CS team are CSMs (customer success managers) and CS leaders. We name customers only with their permission, and we use their numbers only as they approved them.

Names and capitalization

  • Harbor Desk is always two words, both capitalized. Never "HarborDesk", "Harbordesk" or "HD".
  • Product names are capitalized: Health Scores, Playbooks, EBR Builder. Lowercase when you mean the general idea: "a health score", "a playbook".
  • Plan names are capitalized: Starter, Growth, Enterprise.
  • "EBR" means executive business review. Spell it out on first use in anything long.
  • Headlines use sentence case: "Running EBRs that renew", not "Running EBRs That Renew".
  • We write in US English: color, organization, prioritize.

Boilerplate

Harbor Desk is the customer success platform for B2B SaaS companies with 50 to 2,000 employees. Health Scores, Playbooks and the EBR Builder help customer success teams see churn coming and act before renewal. Founded in 2019 and based in Portland, Maine, Harbor Desk has 140 employees and is used by more than 300 customer success teams, including Tidewater Freight, Northwind Analytics and Lighthouse Payroll.
